PY4IED is a collaborative release between the Italian record label Pyteca and the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Italy. The release showcases the work of 4 young IED talents from Milano and Rome for the 4IEDTALENT contest. Vincenzo Pizzi, Pyteca label owner and renowned music producer, himself graduated with honours from the Sound Design program at IED Rome and has since remained as one of ten IED Alumni Mentors at the institution. He now uses his platform and label as an opportunity to give young emerging IED artists exposure and visibility for their projects.⁣

The release opens with the dreamy „Dbtm“ from dhavv, a beautifully atmospheric and warped track with mellow chords, ethereal ambient vocals, smooth bass licks and glitchy drums.⁣
⁣
„Through Milky Way Galaxy“ by Flux By Uchiha, which, true to its name, feels like a journey through space and time. The pulsing arpeggiated synths and upbeat drum-and-bass rhythm propel the listener through the track for a pensive and exciting journey.⁣
⁣
„Prospettiva Invertita“ by Telesm feels like the crash after the adventure, bringing in hard-hitting and aggressive drums, noisy drones and heavy distortion. The track is intense and grungy, characteristic of the underground club scene.⁣
⁣
Finally, the release ends with the fourth and final track, „Health“ by Too Real Djambo. It is reminiscent of track one in terms of sonics and sound, returning to a dreamy and atmospheric soundscape. It closes out the release nicely and gives a sense of resolution and peace.⁣

Releasing via Pyteca on the 8th of June, PY4IED is an exciting record offering a unique glimpse into the up and coming young artists from Italy.⁣
